The Clinical Support Specialist will provide detailed technical support for the Company’s orthopedic products to a wide range of clinical personnel including physicians, nurses and technicians. Primarily focused on cases with physicians that require technical support on the safe and effective use of our products, this individual will also support sales representatives with coverage for critical cases.

Purpose and Scope

The Clinical Support Specialist will provide detailed technical support for the Company’s orthopedic products to a wide range of clinical personnel including physicians, nurses and technicians. Primarily focused on cases with physicians that require technical support on the safe and effective use of our products, this individual will also support sales representatives with coverage for critical cases.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and technical support as well as education to Moximed’s customers in the area of patient selection, surgical planning, device implantation and post operative patient management.
• Educate and provide information regarding clinical results and the clinical efficacy of our product
• Support regional sales strategy: Work with the Sales, Marketing and Medical Educational teams to achieve business plans
o This may include inventory support, technical case support, and compliant market development activities
• Partner with the Sales Reps and Regional Managers on surgical cases and to help achieve business goals set forth within the territory/district
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to be able to provide on demand technical case support where the organization or customers require it
• Provide education and support to the sales team to share and leverage best practices
• Responsible for supporting all sales activities including but not limited to training, product usage documentation, PO collection, managing inventory and equipment provided for case coverage, SFDC management
o Including: Timely transactions when product is used, sold or transferred, maintaining a required level of cycle count accuracy, executing product retrievals as instructed
• Responds promptly and appropriately to technical inquiries by customers, patients, and colleagues
• Maintains a working knowledge of competitive products
• Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters relating to Company products and therapies – this is achieved by coordinating:
o One on one teaching sessions, formal in-service education programs, seminars and/or outside symposia
• Visits accounts to replenish literature and establishes/maintains relationships with office staff
• Provides ongoing clinical and technical support and acts as a resource for physicians, and support staff on matters relating to our products and therapies through in-service programs, one on one sessions and phone support.
• Assist the departments and customers on any complaints, ie: information gathering, observations, documentation, follow up
• Complies with required event reporting and documentation following Company’s procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Training
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ work experience
• Experience working in an Operating Room environment
• Experience with implantable devices and surgical procedures, orthopedic experience preferred
• Western U.S. strongly preferred
• Able to achieve vendor credentialing with all required firms and have no restrictions on entering any healthcare facility

Technical Requirements
• Clinical experience supporting implantation of medical device products
• Ability to control the surgical case from a product usage perspective
• Experience in servicing medical personnel on product use
• Experience with a medical device company, and clinical experience in orthopedics
• Understands basic reimbursement and healthcare environment
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Have knowledge of surgical procedures and substantial experience in operating room practices and protocol
• Ability to build strong relationships clinicians and their support staff
• Have the capacity to assimilate expert product knowledge and the ability to transfer that knowledge to clinical personnel, and others
• Exceptional written, verbal and analytical skills
• Have strong presentation, problem solving and negotiating skills. Regular presentations to individuals as well as large and small groups will be required
• Effectively build and maintain positive relationships with peers and colleagues across organizational levels
• Ability to coordinate/participate in numerous tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment in an organized manner while meeting deadlines
• Strong work ethic in accomplishing objectives
• Ability to travel 75%
